They turn up in the weirdest of places. I've seen two here in my whole life - one walking down the sidewalk on a pretty busy road (lots of woods around, but still city area) and in my parents' front yard (on the same road). Freaked me out - but then I was glad I saw them. They are way cool!
Come to think of it, I saw a weird rodent that night, too. It was all black, and was kind of like a rat or a mouse except the head was rounder and larger in proportion than a rat or mouse, and it had huge rounded ears. The tail looked like half a tail. Its legs seemed pretty long, too. There's some weird stuff living here..
One of mythologies great bloopers. I've started taking classes in religions and it's funny how the idea that the world is the way it is because we screwed up (eden) almost never shows up, and the blame is usually put on the blunders of other deities when you start looking through mythology.
