yep this is one of Nokah's "pets":
Arko (meaning "light" in her mother tongue Kazacan) the Pennatarum draconem ("feathered dragon/serpent" common name: avian dragon)

no it's not a giant birb or a gryphon
it's a non-fire breathing dragon specie native to Nokah, Aanie and Zach's home planet Katrakaztan which has developed feathers and a beak to better adapt to a seaside lifestyle (oily feathers to repel water, beak to crack open the ridiculously hard shells of some giant shellfish creatures from Katrakaztan's oceans)
