It's my friend's birthday today, and I felt that not only would this be good practice for my Arabic calligraphy (especially in the Diwani script), but he would enjoy this as well!
As for the art, I used two shaped reed-pens (قلمين), one smaller for the tashkeel (تشكيلان), some of the letters letters, and some of the diacritic dots (نقاط). I did this with basic black, 30ml, Manuscript ink on Southworth Parchment paper. The whole piece is done in the Diwani script (خط الديواني).
