I like monkey TFs. That's probably traceable back to Jumanji; I blame that film for getting me into this whole thing. But I like it especially because it's one of the few live-action films where the TFed character isn't replaced by a hokey-looking trained animal, isn't a bloodthirsty werewolf, and isn't cast off to the side. And the TF isn't instantaneous! It's done with makeup and prosthetics, which--while they do have this lingering uncanniness--are mostly pretty good at conveying the TF idea in an almost believable manner. Plus the movie gives a bit of focus to the realities of growing a tail while wearing pants, which is fairly unusual to begin with. The subject doesn't even openly resent the TF, though you can tell that there's some sense of embarrassment here and there. There's no on-screen TF, but that's almost for the best, as it leaves a fair amount to the viewer's imagination. Plus you get to see the TF in several stages which is always fun.

And I can thank the movie TF for spawning the recurring TF theme within the animated series. I hope that the Jumanji remake--if that ever materializes--features some kind of TF.
