It looks just fine this way.

She looks thin and spindly in a way that subtly emphasizes the insectile. Longer neck, torso, fingers... that and the speckles make her look like something other than, different than, a human with wings on the back. I'm very impressed by that.

The stripes give her, and the whole image really, a certain storybook feel. The contrast of bright red, darker red, green, and the splash of purple on her wrist really works well. Strange to say about a picture on FA, but I could see this in a children's book.

Having the advantage (due to relentless procrastination, but still!) of seeing the finished product, the addition of color makes this a bit 'flat' currently, but you can see where the start of the final product is quite easily.
