Awwweee This came out super awesome ^_^ I think could pass for a cougar now, you know, after jumping out of my spots seeing this :D

Oh my goodness, to say this was an unexpected surprise would be a huge understatement! I had absolutely no idea that this was in progress, not even the slightest clue! So to wake up to this wonderful picture this morning was absolutely amazing!

First up, thank you so much  Xilimyth for commissioning this! I am so humbled that you think highly enough of Kiya to commission art of her with your own character. What works nicely, is that I too have been a long term fan of Xilimyth too, through all of her forms and incarnations – the thing that’s stayed consistent is that she’s always been a really fun character with a lovely design.

Then an another huge thank you to Maquenda, as I’m just blown away by your art, time and time again. It’s just consistently amazing - the paint-like style, the wondrous colours, the fantastic sense of depth, I’m a huge fan of your style, and this picture shows exactly why.

Xilimyth and Kiya here look so amazing, the pair of them looming over everything in the kingdom looking so majestic and powerful. Xilimyth as Kiya’s guardian works so unbelievably well. She’s got a beautiful design; she’s big (sorry xili, no tinycat), strong, powerful, while still very sleek and elegant. I can’t think of a more fitting character for such a role! And the Egyptian look really fits her so nicely. The braided hair, the garbs, and the similarities between Kiya’s and Xili’s costumes all work so well. As an additional note those muscles look amazing Maquenda – there’s so much definition on them.

And then Kiya here just looks outstanding. She looks so regal, sat on the giant throne – which in itself looks amazing – There’s so much detail in the gold and the hieroglyphics and it itself is so gigantic and imposing. Anyway Kiya looks beautiful, powerful but definitely beautiful.You did a lovely job with the robe details and all the jewellery, and I love that the crescent shaped scythe is lit up so nicely in the sky next to the hot desert sun. (There’s probably a picture idea somewhere in that – it looking like a moon.)

Then there’s the wonderful background work too. It’s simplified, but that adds to the effect –giving a hazy like appearance to the entire scene. It makes the desert look so hot, and the characters so powerful.

Anyway, thank you so very much to the pair of you! You are both awesome, and this was an absolutely lovely gift. <3

I liked the built in sunshade for Kiya ^_^ Even protecting her from the direct heat of the sun with those giant radiator wings. ^_^ Xili = Good Guard cat :D
