I have been trying to design myself a character for a LONG TIME that let's me play around with gender. I consider myself genderfluid/genderqueer, usually I just go with genderwhat, lol. Cuz I am a girly person, so I'm always femmy, but not always feeling 100% female.
Originally, my pouch dragon Cathedral was meant to be my outlet for this and I asked if she could be a herm, but the creator of the species said she either had to be a girl or a boy, not both, so I respected the artist's wishes and made another female character.
Since then I've been trying to come up with something for a character that can change gender depending on how I'm feeling. I had a fennec/red panda hybrid completed-ish for a long time, but it didn't feel enough like me. Lately I had the idea for a pastel sheepy femboy, or an alpaca or goat, something along those lines.
anniekitty helped me play around with that idea: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16907726/ and I totally love him, but it's still not quite me.
Finally I had an image come to mind that felt right. This guy right here! He's soooo preeettyyyyy! >w< This is only my first try at him, I might change his design up a bit more. I'm considering having one antler be broken, and maybe adding some celtic knot tattoos to his back. I'm also not that familiar with deer fur patterns yet. But this is basically him. I can't wait to start playing with him and dress him up pretty! X3
I'm still having trouble naming him though. Usually I feel I have a gift for finding exactly the right names for characters, but it's not always easy to find them. I'm thinking something archaic, something from Celtic or Greek mythology. Originally I wanted to call him Huron based on a song I have on a celtic album, and it reminds me of Herne, but then I found out that's a Native American tribe, not related to Celtic lore, so I'm not sure that's what I want. I'm also thinking of something along the lines of a river spirit, and I've been leaning towards names with hard C's. Cernunnos. Celeborn. (Tolkien mythology is perfectly acceptable too.) I was also thinking of just calling him River, but I'm not sure about that either.
Want to help me come up with more names for him? :3c
Also why is "Deer" not under the species tab yet?
-Edit- I finally settled on the name Ambrose. I wanted to go with something river-spirit-like, so it's like ambrosia/waters of life. Also "rose" is in there, and it amuses me to no end that his nickname could be Amby, and people would be like, "Wait, did you say Bambi?!" and he'd be like, >:T
