So I have gotten incredibly addicted to playing ARK survival evolved lately and come across a lot of various adventures in it. the server I play on is rather peaceful player wise, but the wild dinos are a different matter. this is just a run of my horrible luck with chasing parasaurs as my first tamed dino. first they're quite fast when fleeing from your slingshot while you try to knock them out. my first few I accidently chased into deep water where they were nommed by awaiting megalodons. one i knocked out and was working on when i was jumped by a dilophosaur who killed me then promptly ate my unconscious parasaur. another time I returned to one i was taming after collecting berries and found he was dinner for a pack of dilos. after that i managed to fully tame one and brought it back to camp with me. day or so later one of my friends was running around near base and saw a level one brontosaurus and firugred they could take it. it proceeded to curbstomp half our camp and my parasaur. I tamed one after that along with a dilophosaurus and had them for a while in a dino pen, but......a carnotaurus came too close to camp and managed to wiggle into the pen (it had only basic wall height at the time) and nommed them both. he was however stuck in my pen and was gnawing on the wall when i knocked him out and proceeded to have him for dinner while i got more supplies to repair my home. so i've given up on defenseless dinos to tame and currently have a trike named Tony and a green raptor named Yoshi in my pen.

Had three fair-leveled Dilos, had had them for quite some time. Got in fight with a Stega, since we'd taken one down before, figured it would be easy.
One dilo spits, misses, spit hits bronto foot.
Bronto killed everything. The dilos, myself, and the Stega.
...
I enjoy the game, and it's moments like those that keep me playing, ahaha.

So true, I had all these happen to me. Mostly while trying to re-tame my tera after server host/friend/tribe leader got her killed, first one fell in water over megalo's, next 5 got ate by dilo's or raptors. Then I just tamed a bird before they got nerf/buffed, I've tamed almost every dino in tribe/server, its a open server but I'm the titled BeastMaster for taming everything ^^, but I love ark so much and am very hooked on it as you said. Its super addicting, but once you hit 65 its a fairly sudden stop on what can do and stuff. Because friend said he'd be the diver so I cant really go down to get pearl's for electronics, yet he never goes for them hehe
Long story short, I love taming dino's even though it takes forever and ARK is very addicting.

Aah~ Ark, what an amazing game, I'm excited for them t add the plesiosaur and the mosasaur this week
Also I'm sorry you lost so many parasaurs ;-;
One funny story, me and my fiancé were taming our spinos when they first came out, but there was a glitch where they would wake up if the torpor went below 600, NEEDLESS TO SAY THAT WAS TERRIFYING DX but we got them both in the end after many, many tranq arrows and narco berries :'D
