So happy to hear is doing good now! Also he is growing up to be so pretty! Sad that he isn't a cuddle bird again.

He is (was?) going through puberty, which can make them into buttheads. He may snap out of it eventually, but even if he doesn't we still love him <3

Atlas went through this, now he is cuddly again, but not as often as he used to be as a baby. Also in the spring or during mating season they are total dicks.

Yeah, that's . I pulled her stupid tiny eyes out a while ago, I want to change them for bigger toony ones and give her more silly teefs. She was way creepy before, now she looks much cuter.

Wooooo, so glad to hear that Garrus is going to be ok! :D Hopefully the stand-offish teenager phase won't last too much longer and he'll get some of that cuddliness back. I had forgotten how awesome birds are when they are babies, though. My Grey still enjoys cuddling every now and then, but not as much as when she was wee lil' 'un (not to mention that anyone could hold her then).

Have you tried giving him the cardboard tube from a toilet paper roll to see what he would do with it yet? Gracie absolutely loves those things, but with Garrus you might get some extra entertainment from the fact that he could probably crawl right through it, heh.

I put plain popcorn in those and crimp the edges, so he has to work to get it out XD

Ha! That is a really good idea, I may have to borrow that. :D Though usually I just double up two rolls and add them to her toys so she can shred the fool out of them. Junk mail is also a great bird toy! :P

What kind of bird is he? We recently got a lovebird from a domestic violence situation (my moms a vet) and she's very unsocialized so I have been working with her. But I read somewhere that female lovebirds aren't really social in general

He's a Pacific parrotlet, they're related to Amazon parrots despite they more greatly resemble lovebirds.

I've never had a lovebird, but they can be very finicky about who or what they bond with-- females tend to be one-person birds and if that person is not you, expect bites! Males are more relaxed around multiple people or other birds, but really it depends on a lot of factors like how it was raised, age, etc. The best kind of bird is a happy bird that doesn't need to be lonely, so keep on trying!

Birds are such wonderful babies. I wish I was able to have one! So much adorable and character. Garrus is lucky he has such a loving home in which to be a total loveable shithead in <3
