So I did a series of FNAF paintings several months ago that I've decided to post. I was hesitant to before because...well I don't know why really. The idea was to take the characters into full spook territory because, although the game is pretty creepy, the robuts were a bit goofy. Maybe some people feel that added to the creepiness but eh...
Anyway...posting in scraps because it'll bug me that my gallery is out of order. They were all done back in March.

I still think this is pretty hype, Loaf. So good.
(And yeah. The game itself already isn't too scary. The silly animatronics didn't help! My only real complaint. At least Scott Cawthon learned how to work on atmosphere and stuff over time -- comparing the first game to the third, or even teasers of the fourth, I love seeing how he improved their designs. He learned how to start being creepy/off-putting in both environment AND characters. Hooray!)

Ah thanks man. It was encouraging when you commented on it a while back.
Well it can't hold a candle to really unsettling games. Atmospheric horror like SH which is my favorite kind of stuff.
But to be fair, its super simple and its amazing what he pulled off with so little. Its rare that I struggle to play a game because the tension is so high. Hasn't happened in a while anyway.
Foxy running down the hallway was probably one of the most panic inducing moments ever in any video game for me.

True. Silent Hill and stuff is much better just because it is able to go deeper and you have more control, I think. (I've actually never played Silent Hill. I was going to try that reboot one that was coming out, but, ah... Well... Too soon?)
I admit my bias in saying that I thought the original FNAF was a nice twist in the genre, working between fight or flight in a strategic way. I also enjoyed it more than I did, like, Alien: Isolation or Amnesia or stuff like that. For a time, I actually though of it as one of the better "horror" games of recent memory, so there's that!
I actually laughed when Foxy ran down the hallway. It made me happy to see them actually moving. Bonnie is probably my favorite though. What a doofus.

You really should play through SH1-3. They still hold up today. You can emulate 1 and play 2 and 3 on PC if you don't have a playstation 1/2. Just avoid the HD Collection like the plague.

I absolutely loved Alien and Amnesia. Amnesia is a masterpiece of horror and Alien was beautiful and fun but the flamethrower was so effective it killed all the sense of danger :/

Mmmm. I can see Alien as fun. I did want to give it another fair shake at some point. Was playing it through the Family Sharing thing on Steam, so when my brother started playing a lot of games, I was only able to play for 30 minutes at a time around midnight. You can see why that might be a problem. But Amnesia as a masterpiece... To each their own! It wasn't a BAD game, but man, I tried to give it 2 hours to hook me, and it was a struggle the whole way through. I felt so disconnected to everything around me.
Bookmarked that for the future if I get a chance to play it! Thank you, Loaf~
