Thank you so much. :) I've been lucky to find some wonderful comic artists to help tell my stories, and there's something about telling a story visually that has always appealed to me. I'd originally planned for all of these to be written works but at least for a furry audience I think this is more likely to be seen and enjoyed.
I've always been told and I tend to believe that I've got a natural instinct for characters that feel real. These aren't over the top caricatures or one dimensional nameless folks that could be played by anyone. I know how people act and I know what I would do in most of these cases, so I just draw on what would be likely from what I know, and write it accordingly.
Isabelle's role has fluctuated a lot in the story, but she's always been the sort that is very sure of herself, extremely intelligent, and extremely disciplined. She's probably more embarrassed that she lost in front of Lucas and Lynn.
Lauren is probably pretty surprised that Lucas chose her, not because she doesn't deserve it but because she does her best to do the right thing for everyone. She would likely not expect to be given the job though she might desire it, but she'll accept it gratefully and do it to make Lucas proud.

People are complex - internally and externally. Many writers don't seem to connect to that concept, and present their characters more as plot elements, rather than living, breathing people. True, you can't have them run rampant over the narrative, but their actions still need to make sense for their true nature. That's very important with villains. They're far more interesting - and terrifying - if their actions make sense.
Exactly, and it's something they don't teach you, you kind of have to figure it out for yourself. After a lot of time thinking on it, I finally think I reached it for my series ultimate villain, which for a long time knowing his motivation escaped me, but now I think I figured out how to make it all work. :)
I like characters that have a lot of layers, one dimensional characters, they're good for NPC's, but never your heroes.
