Bit of a continuation pic of my pic of Krystal for Smash Bros, but now it looks like she is cut out of the Star Fox universe entirely. SO GAME OVER MAN, GAME OVER!
Honestly not that excited for the new Star Fox Zero game, although the Krystal thing is very minor. Just felt they kind of took the cheap way out of what is essentially a Starfox 64 remake and added little to the gameplay.

Hard to say, and yes, SF Zero is pretty much a reboot or remake of the N64 release, the supposedly new Arwing walker function was actually a concept that rose up in the unreleased Star Fox 2 on the NES, a very old concept now being put to play, and it does disappoint me that our blue girl isn't in SF Zero, bigger disappointment yet is that instead of making the Star Fox timeline move forward, they keep throwing it back, but in retrospect, this does hold the possibility of her returning in later games if their intent is to remake or reboot the franchise to keep up with the console generation shift, maybe in time we'll get a full on timeline sequel to what officially happened after Assault, because Command just couldn't be taken seriously, though the idea of playing as Krystal as her Kursed ego would be interesting, but my guess is most likely a fresh coat of paint being put onto the old franchise, so, she's not pure dust yet, as for the smash ballot, the currently released DLC, as stupid as it is with the addition of Ryu from street fighter and bringing back three veterans, Mewtwo, Lucas, and Roy, that DLC wasn't in relation to the ballot votes at all, it was just Sakurai doing it for himself, the next four or five slots are going to be fan service, so with the hype of SF Zero and the current smash bros DLC having nothing to do with the ballot votes, this means she still has a shot of getting attention one way or another.
"but now it looks like she is cut out of the Star Fox universe entirely"
Nope, not only was Command released on the eShop, but they recently confirmed that Zero takes place in a parallel universe from the main timeline. They're not known for cutting anyone off. It's also stupid to expect her or the others past this scenario to appear as it's eight years before that event. They might however alter it in this timeline and have her and the others show up in a different way, the point is she and everyone aren't gone and that Star Fox is getting the timeline split.

I've made four to five predictions of what can happen to Krystal, and if what SuperKing said is of any relevance, my current predictions are the following.
1 - Starfox Adventures gets a rebooted and retold storyline which doesn't pan out the way it originally did on the Gamecube, therefore allowing back and forth control either willingly or based on in game progress between Fox and Krystal, due to the nature of reboots as we know, the same story premise is told, but is unveiled in a different manner entirely.
2 - Starfox Assault gets a reboot and control setup and gameplay mechanic overhaul and introduces Miyu and Fay from Starfox 2 from the unreleased super nintendo, now going back to SuperKing's comment of the timeline being split as an alternate universe, even Farah from the nintendo power comic in the 90's might show up, remember, with reboots, the same events are retold but unravel very differently as opposed to the original events, therefore increasing possibilities which're only limited by the presentation of the development team and good decision making from the project overseer who makes the big calls of what happens.
3 - Starfox Adventures is no longer that and instead a later reboot is done with the old material of the original Dinosaur Planet therefore giving Krystal her original IP back and Starfox returns to its pre-Krystal era/style, which sadly removes her from the Starfox universe as she'd have her own IP as originally intended....thanks to copyrights the ownership is split down the middle between Rare and Nintendo, but speculation hints that Miyamoto of Nintendo is responsible for screwing over the original Dinosaur Planet by turning it into a Starfox game at the last minute, plus, the console generation switch at the time between the N64 and Gamecube and the buy out of Rare to Microsoft, but thanks to the game being a collab effort, Nintendo owns a portion of it and if they put the money down, they could very much commission Retro Studios or even thanks to the new SF Zero title Platinum Games to assist in the reboot of the old IP, it's highly unlikely yet it could happen.
4 - Nintendo does its old trope and acts like a bag of floppy dicks and unfortunately tosses Krystal to the winds to never be heard from again, just a victim of bad corporate planning and being cheated out of her own original franchise and given the boot from her initially intended spotlight, despite the vast unnecessary hatred she gets, once you learn of the story of the companies and higher up decisions and the buy out, you just can't help but feel bad for her, like how Minerva Mink of Animaniacs only got two legit episodes to her name due to being perceived as too sexualized.
These're my current predictions, they might happen, they might not happen, for all we know, Nintendo is probably gonna bomb the fuck out of us with more of their mascot plumber Mario who needs a major break, the main reason for all of the attention the DS and 3DS gets is because of the fact Nintendo finally realized that motion control as is, is utter shit best to be developed in secret for the next 25 or so years until its perfected for a home console, the lack of love for any Wii console is easy to see, it's the old saying "easier said than done", Nintendo fucked itself since the original Wii and their handheld can only carry them so far, sad to say SF Zero is Nintendo's way of saying "aaaahhhhh shaddap" and throws us a bone to gnaw on to make us shut up, if E3 was any indication, the Wii U is most likely going to be replaced by a more standard console which can get more releases for it across broader genres, which means on a more traditional styled console like the 360, PS3, XBOX One, PS4, the lack of complex motion controls allows for simplified easier to play games and easier implemented mechanics which in turn puts out more original IPs and continuing franchises which in turn helps better instead of having to compensate with handheld bombardments while the main stay home console becomes a dead horse with imperfected control schemes....hate to say it, but the Wii U's time is very much coming to a closer, as any gamer would say, it's counter productive to make a console that has few games to play on it, and unlike Sega which is multi-platform now, Nintendo clearly isn't, we're not yet playing Mario or F-Zero on a XBOX or PS of any sort now are we? So for business advice, motion control gaming needs to be put on the back burner to advance under the radar, as for visual motion controls like the Oculus Rift, that can be both developed and used as a dual process, each new game testing and expanding its limits which leads to steady progression and worth while open investment for advancement, but motion controls like the Wii and Wii U implement, they're clearly not ready yet....and the results are obvious as Nintendo's only above water floating attempt is to spam Mario like clock-work out of all of their well known franchises, bluntly....Wii in general fucked Nintendo and the releases and continuations of new IPs, Splatoon seems to be an exception of this, but all else, how long did it take to develop while so far in with the console's release, so as stated....Wii fucked Nintendo.
