So I normally don't share these kinds of things, but I figured I would.
I suddenly started thinking of a game in my head weeks ago, and I guess I just didn't want the idea to die off.
I had / have ideas for a couple dozen games. Before I seriously sat down to make some, I wanted to get better at a lot of things.
I've tried to get on indie game teams, make free models for people, make free requests, etc. Some of it helped! A lot of it was just abuse...
Regardless, after I finish these last few models, I was going to finally, after a decade, sit down and make games. I hope it's not too late...
Even though I don't know how, I can learn. It's really the only thing I've been able to think of in life. If it fails, I don't know what to do...
This particular concept image is of a game idea I had of a 2D action / RPG / platformer.
Think of something like Castlevania SOTN, maybe mixed with Mega Man. Or just SOTN, heh.
I have no idea of story, characters, settings, enemies, etc. Just the type of game and a similar look of it.
If I made a game like this, it wouldn't look exactly like this. I'm not that big a fan of the health bars up there.
IF I made a game similar to this... would anyone play it?
As usual, don't steal, copy, edit, etc.
Want something, just... well, I can't give you this, sorry.
I take my character(s) very serious, so please don't do what you were thinking.
As far as the images, pretty much all the trees are from Google images. Search vector trees.
The bars and sigil and stuff I made myself. ME, the character in the middle and icon, are from SL, heh.

Some, if not most of the games I had planned are actually in 3D. This is one of the few 2D ones I've thought up.
But this wouldn't be a serious game. I mean it would, but not, like, commercial. Maybe.
I was just thinking of something I can make quick, maybe put online on FA or something.
Then again, it was just a thought. If I sat down to really brainstorm it out, it could become something much bigger.
That's a problem I have, heh. I can't think small, and sometimes it gets really annoying when I want to make something quick.

Yeah I was going to do that.
There would be different areas, kinda like MegaMan. Or rather, kind of like Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia.
The areas would be large, but there would be many of them.
Ah, thinking about it all makes me excited! But... I gotta finish other stuff first, and make at least one commercial game first.
I don't know if I could make a good commercial game, but I need some kind of income and want to finally get this business started.

That's what I was going to do for my first game. It was gonna be a short, small game, but it was gonna be free.
I even started to develop it. I got as far ("far") as to make the edges of the world and make the movement.
But I stopped because I thought I still needed more practice to get better, and because I wanted to finish everything.
It's the second or third time I decided to continue to train myself since I first started planning games in 2004.
Unfortunately, I've run out of time. Between thinking I wasn't good enough yet and training, a bit of procrastination,
unwillingly becoming a freebie slave, depression and demotivation left and right, and several indie game teams that went nowhere,
I can't wait around anymore. I'll be 29 in a week, I wanted everything done before or by 25.
I have no income anymore and am always close to being booted at any moment at the whim of whoever.
So when I start to make games, which will be this year finally, even the first one has to sell.
Granted, yeah it'll still be cheap (10 bucks), and it might not be good, but this was to be my future and business. I have to start.
