yeah Half, I had mine for nearly a good 15 years (come August 1st). Lots of adventures to and fro... Taur Taur was very good to me!

I'm glad to hear Taur had such a long life though, not many cars are so lucky to have one owner for so long. Are you sure that your journey together has to end though? It looks purely cosmetic.

A LOT of people are surprised Taur Taur last as long. I was/am lucky. Felt the same way you did when I went back to collect my valuables, Half... but according to State Farm, aside the air bags having been deployed... the uni-body frame was broken enough to declare Taur Taur a total loss. *sigh* u,,,,u

Maybe, but those damn insurance companies will 'total' a car even for the most minimal stuff if it's an older low-value car. They just see it as not worth it to them.

I'm sure a LOT of this is due to the "value"... now I'm on the lookout for something hopefully half way decent and cheap! >.<

Oh no, Half - no worries!!! Either way - the insurance company would total Taur Taur... its something I don't want to think about. Just feels like sometimes life/fate/what have you throws things your way and you've just got to deal with them. I don't know if their tests to make me or my will stronger? If I'm just supposed to give up or what... but I guess I just got to count my blessings and keep going. *hugs*

I am *trying*... still waiting on getting a rental thru the police department's insurer. Between that and work and bumming rides - guess I'm doing the best I can! *hughugs*

Be glad you have people you can bum rides from. It would be nice if the police simply gave you a rental on the first day, and took care of their paperwork later. It sounds like it was completely their fault after all.

I've been screening all calls, because of so many annoying spam telemarketers. So be sure to say something if you get an answering machine, and stay on for around five or ten seconds to be sure I have time to pick up. If I don't pick up, it probably means I'm sleeping and won't hear it at all.

Heh - love the colour. Grant my car had seen better days. The years were starting to show; but Taur Taur was very good to me. If its gets totaled - might be able to get a cheap transmission there (???). *hugs* ^,,,,^

no way to get to it or even afford it. I'm begging commissions for smokes and gas money now, but everyone is terrified of sending payment via snail-mail, like I'm going to putter after them on a bad trans and no gas <.<
