A few of my furry friends wanted to see a furry version of my very human character, Jordan DeLeo, a character from my comic DRAWBLOOD http://silvanoir.deviantart.com/gal.....rawBlood-comic
So here it is.
I chose ORYX as his species. A Gemsbok, to be exact. Oryx's have long been one of my favorite animals, ever since I found out the unicorn myth may have started from seeing an Arabian Oryx (which are smaller than their Gemsbok cousins, and almost all white except their face) from a distance in the desert... as from a distance it looks like they have only one spiral horn.
The Arabian variety became extinct in the wild in the 70's, but was brought back by releasing captive animals, only to be nearly killed off by poachers and drought in the 90's. They are protected now.
The Gemsbok live in Africa, and have grey bodies. As far as I know, they are not endangered like the Arabian variety.
An Oryx fits him because they are quiet, shy, and graceful animals. They are non-aggressive, almost never fighting even amongst themselves. Despite being a goth, and maybe looking scary, Jordan is also very non-aggressive (not to mention, in the comic, even as a human he is a prey animal... heh. And his girlfriend likes unicorns.).
