Not the greatest way to present this, but my cintiq is on the fritz again so here goes. After many years and many iterations, it seems i have finally stumbled upon a fursona design I like!
Vyski is Whisski, my main fursona. Lately I've been pondering a lot on spirituality and history, and have concluded that I very much like norse/slavic/icelandic culture and beliefs. Along with that I concluded I wanted a fursona that would fit into that setting. It also occurred to me that, after owning a soft mount of an Arctic Fox (my baby Freyr) for several years now, and am completely attached to him, well, maybe an Arctic Fox is a good fit for me.
I then found some amazing photos of spring/fall phase arctic foxes, when they're losing their winter fluff, but still have some remnants, and it was pretty much a done deal.
So Vyski was born. I'm still working out a lot of details, but right now I know Vyski is androgynous and genderfluid (leans towards female but takes on whatever gender they feel like) and something of a Wilds Witch, for lack of a better term. Vyski is almost entirely brown, but with the white winter fluff sticking to her ears, neck, and tail. She almost never goes fully into Winter or Summer phase. Hopefully Vyski will help me realize my physical, fashion, spiritual, mental, and emotional goals.
(Vyski is a variation on the Icelandic word Viski, which of course means Whisky)
I know it sounds like I'm being overblown, but I haven't had a fursona I've liked, truly, really liked, in about 7 years. I've gone through so many, and nothing felt really right. Vyskis does, and its incredible.
I'll be wearing this con badge around Anthrocon 2015. Yay viking theme! See ya there!
