A little tiny 4"x6" picture that I completed maybe a week or so ago. I don't normally do couple pictures, but Draco was super nice.
I want to move away from using gel pens to do white highlighting because they're clumsy and unreliable. The quality of the paint could be better, but I'm fairly happy with it considering that I know fuckall about acrylic paint.
Ink, marker, gel pen, and acrylic on Bristol board.

The ink is obviously the black ink outline. The marker is all of the color and base shading. The hard white highlights are a mix of gel pen and white acrylic. The stars and soft highlighting on the fur/skin/hair are all mixed acrylic.
There's very little white gel pen on the entire picture. Looking back, I wish I didn't use any, but overall I'm not really upset about it or anything.

Ever consider FW acrylic? http://www.dickblick.com/zz211/07/ I've been using FW for my whites for years, since gel often requires a reapplication to be non translucent and this stuff's on-the-spot opaque. Speedball makes a nice white, too, that I can't seem to find on ze site. Both are smooth enough for dipping a crowquill or size 1 brush in, is what I appreciate the most.
