So Shaw's parents were killed only shortly after he had hatched so he had to learn how to fend for himself. Which is how he ended up becoming a pirate (it was his favorite thing as a kid because they didn't answer to anyone and could go anywhere they wanted). He would get into fights all the time and so he usually sported a black eye but he soon found his way into the underbelly of the world. He grew up in it and has been in it ever since.

and he is the most adorable crocodile child ever. he looks so teeny i just wanna put him in my pocket
