Some people were sailing down a river and ignored the warnings of the locals to watch out for a local river hazard. That hazard happened to come in the form of a massive crocodile that is also regarded as a local deity. There is a chance these people could be fine, but this river is also used by the locals to send him fairly routine sacrifices. So it is pretty likely a little mix up may be about to occur.
