Falling, a Lament - As Recorded by RunningRed
Falling was a bit of text I wrote over 12 years ago. I thought I had shared it then, but couldn't find it in my LiveJournal for that time frame. I re-read it and thought it was time to re-post and...why not record an audio version as well?
It isn't exactly a poem, not really a story. Lament just seemed the best description.
And please don't worry, this doesn't reflect my current emotional state. And I wasn't suicidal then. Frankly, I can't recall the exact circumstances that compelled me to write it.
I would love any feedback on this.

Thanks. I think it's something that most people can identify with. Screwing up, or having to hide our inner selves to deal with friends/family/work and feeling numb because of it. It gets too easy to accept the mud and forget the light inside.
I have pondered, in the back of my mind, composing a rebuttal, a redemption. Partly cause I don't agree with the end of my own lament. I believe we can raise our heads and it's never too late to climb back up. But such things should really come in threes. Three is a potent number (despite Matt Wagner bailing on the third part of his Mage trilogy).
I shall have to keep my ears open for the Muse's call.
