A size comparison of my new Acer Apsire One netbook and my 5 year old HP Pavilion ze5400. (And I used to think that big thing was so handy.)
I bought it for travel and for cons where I didn't want to lug a big laptop around. The cost was $375.74 after taxes from Office Depot.
And it looks like Acer is going to get these in a lot of USA stores soon. I just saw one advertised in Wal-Mart's recent circular.
My Acer has Windows XP system pack 2 pre-installed on it, a 144g hard drive, 1 mb of memory and a Intel Atom 1.6ghz processor. It also has 3 USB ports, 2 SD memory slots, LAN, Mic, Headphone jacks and analog video output.
I thought it would be sorrily underpowered but it seems to handle everything I have thrown at it - H.264 videos played with VLC and game emulators like Mame work fine on it.
I bet this will be a hot seller for Christmas, so grab one soon!

I've got an Acer Aspire 6670 - 2052 laptop. Cost me around 400 bucks, and it's lasted me a good two years.
Comes pre-installed with Vista Home Premium, 2GB RAM, 1.73 GHz Prcoessor, 120 GB HD, and other useless specs. It also comes with three USB ports, a headphone jack, a microphone jack, and a wireless signal jack (for wireless signal enhancers, I assume). Also comes with Bluetooth capabilities with a built in microphone and DVD burning ROM.
All of that for only 400 bucks... What a STEAL. xD
