Edit: Upon re-examination, my measurements were off, and so were my sketches! By a half an inch on one side. I remembered I had to trim that when I got to it, but I completely forgot it when sketching.
Fixed the middle sketches, because that was going to drive me nuts otherwise.
Thanks again to
cheesebeagle for spotting that.
I'm going to cut it now so I don't forget!
I know, this guy is all I draw lately! But I've finally got his design down I think, and after marking out a measurement grid for the 15th time, I think I have finalized the finer details!
Not drawing ears, 'cause I don't have the material to start them yet, and they get in the way! Will be easier to just cut them out and stick them on since I already have the measurements for them.
So close to done!
Now all I have left to do is to carve this out, measure everything, add more foam to places, carve more from others, design the jaw, line the inside, take measurements again, design the ears, build the ears, pick out a fur pattern, cut out fur patches, sew them together, trim the fur, brush it out, glue/sew it on, trim it more, add the ears, and then make paws, and feet, and the rest of the body, design digitigrade legs...
Okay, maybe there's still a bit left to do... I'm going to be busy...
Paws and feet should be a bit easier to design, I think.
I might need a sewing machine - I think my brain will cease to function if I tried to hand sew everything.
The foam for his ears should be here tomorrow! I can tack them on so he won't look so bald anymore. I tried that with aluminum foil, but that didn't hold very well... it looked cute while I held it up though! So I know the idea works!
If I get a sewing machine, I might never stop making things!
Who knew I'd have so much fun doing this!
