Have a similar but slightly smaller Victrola VV-IVa.
newer 78's, 1940's and 50's can be damaged with acoustic phonographs, they used a softer shellac once electric phonographs became common, I usually just play "junk" records on the victrolas, or use a fiber needle for good records. If you need needles or parts let me know, I know of a few sources, started collecting them 26 years ago, but nowhere near being an expert.
Steel needles ideally should be used 1 per play, but no one ever seemed to follow that, then and now,
Arm is on wrong side of record for playing, that position could severely damage a record.
Some guy asked me what kind of sound system I had in my model t, happened to have a portable Victrola with me, totally surprised him.
