XD i get spanish ads everywhere. The ad service that they use mixes them into the bunch.

Interesting... I wonder statistically how many FA members understand Spanish or are native Spanish speakers. I know we have plenty of members who do speak Spanish and I'd like to give a thumbs up and a shout out to them all but...

I can't imagine that Spanish speakers are a hmm... "Majority" and if your playing a numbers game were it's all about odds and the number of eyes that see your adds. It doesn't make sense to spam a large population with adds in a language that many of them wouldn't understand. Though admittedly it does make the adds easier to ignore. :)

they'll never stop the ridiculous ads because all the owners see is the money it could possibly bring in. this is another reason why flocks of FA users are leaving. fender, dragoneer, and the rest just don't care any more.

did you miss the point a couple years ago where they were trying to raise like $80,000 for new severs? that was a joke as they are hosting off of a server farm (and were during that time too) where did that money go? ooh yeah, no one knows.

Maybe some one's driving a new car? Not sure ;) Ya 80,000 for new gear if you don't even own the gear that you would be replacing and have no intention of moving to a self run/contained system. That does sound bad.

It is a shame. It seams that FA is the largest setup overall for the Fury Fandom. As far as shear number of users and time. I could be wrong but that seams to be the overall consensus of many furys who have posted with their frustration in the comments I've seen so far.

It seams that lots of people are angry (rightfully so) but when they leave they're coming back because they're not getting the same traction with other services. It seams like ultimately we're going to have to fix this mess from with in. No mater how many voices it takes.

Then again that maybe why they're sitting back on their haunches and ignoring most of the complaints is they're hoping that they have the best setup in town "At least with numbers and coverage" and they figure every one who leaves will just come back eventually.

well technically I think after 50,000 registered users they are supposed to become a publicly traded entity on the NYSE. it's something like that. I think I was user 70k something and that was a half dozen years ago.

Not so much a good neighbor when they move their big regional headquarters away from the city across the riverto some other place across the country for reasons that are murky, taking a bunch of income and people with them.

Given that you understand Spanish, do you ever speak it online? Any friends of yours where they do and their second language is English? I get ads in Spanish quite a good percentage of the time, and that's over a good swath of the Inter of Nets.

My own experiences stem from just idle passing back and forth of Spanish snippets, and that's been enough for Google (among others) to think I'm a saucy latino momma who really needs cellphones for her family.

Soooooo yeah.

I don't get ads because I blocked out all of the services they come through. Plus this is Dragoneer we're talking about, he hasn't fixed this website in 10 years.
