After that photo of Dev and the subsequent vote, we took a tally and, while not unanimous, the vote definitely leaned towards lumberjack.. A lot of "sortas" and bet hedging, but still pretty much in favor. Foxy winz ^.^
So Dev wanted to show what his REAL occupation is, especially since iRL he'd never actually cut down a tree.
Is this a better fit, then?

Still a very handsome hunk - you are a lucky guy.
Let's see, we've got a 4' level, grip-rite brand drywall screws, bucket of mud and tray with a knife in it, 2' dustpan handle sticking up and him with dusty boots. Not enough paint on his boots for a painter and he's got joint compound dust on his hat and a sanding block in his belt so I gotta guess he's the drywall guy.
My house is pretty much a nightmare to hang drywall in - it's almost 100 years old and must have been framed by M C Escher, there isn't a level surface or a right angle in the place, a study in skew lines. Rough cut lumber everywhere to add insult to injury.

Yeah, the house I was working on used to be a hunting cabin designed by meth addicts with a bad spirit level about 75 years ago before wealthy people started buying the area and rennovating.
I'd just put a smooth coat of plaster on the wall when I noticed that a cabinet outside had been affixed to the house frame outside incorrectly, and was letting in a lot of water.
My family owned a large apartment block, about 125 years old, so I've learned marble cutting, plumbing, carpentry, tiling, brass casting....no one makes the ornamental components anymore, so we're forced to do so ourselves. I'm rather sad that I don't have green sand and lost wax casting areas anymore, although considering how dry California is, I'm sure I'd just start a damned fire somewhere. :)
Sorry about your house, mate, sounds like a real headache.

Love the meth addict comment! They probably dumped the liquid out of the level to use in the bong because it was bright green and "trippy" and filled the level with stems and seeds. My place was reasonably well built by French Canadians but age and previous homeowners have taken their toll. Also the builders were stingy so rough cut 2x4s on 24" centers aren't quite up to NH snow load standards. At least I have a concrete foundation instead of a pile of rocks like most of the century old places around here.
Ask Lobowolf about his old place - a hunting camp that stoners built and furnished with trees as support beams and materials they scavenged from the town dump. It was breathtaking - including a hexagonal outbuilding with a connecting second story catwalk. Now he lives in a beautiful house he built on the property next to the camp.
Sounds like you've had waaaay more experience with all things construction than I. That's an impressive list of skills, especially the stone work and the casting.
I'm terrible at drywall and mud work and poor at finish carpentry but pretty good at framing and structural stuff and very good at plumbing and electrical. Do I get props for knowing those were coarse thread drywall screws?
I solved my out of square issues by moving to a different house which was completely renovated 13 years ago. Next time I'm doing work on an old house I'm going to sister all the studs from day one so I can have flat drywall instead of the wavy funhouse walls I put in the last project.

Nah, mate you sound more well rounded than I when it comes to construction. Full marks for knowing your screws. Double entendre intended.
I don't think they learned to make methamphetamine at that point in time, I'm assuming it's just a bunch of drunk friends who built a 'cabin'. Glad you have a much more liveable home, mate!
