Giftart for Tidmatiger! It's her awesome smoky skeletal cat fursona. :D
So, Tidma's been going through some hard times lately and, since I've loved her character ever since I found out about her, I thought I'd make her a thing! Tidma's open to artistic interpretation on the design, so I thought it would be cool to do a picture of her cosplaying as Arvak from Skyrim.
Now, Tidma usually has dark-inky smoke that encircles her skeleton (giving her the appearance of a normal cat) but I thought it would be cool if she "pulled in" her smoke and used it to color her bones. Then, she could just have her spirit seep out, creating the blue flames. I... don't know if she can actually *do* any of that, but it was such a cool idea that I couldn't resist. (Sorry if I went too far, Tidma. |D)
Oh, and I tried out a new technique in this picture too. Instead of planning out the background like I do normally, I just came up with a general idea for the picture and then started painting. I thought that it would help me be more spontaneous, but it... kinda backfired, haha. I ended up having to redo a bunch of stuff, and rework the composition several times over just to get it to look alright. From now on, I'm gonna stick to my thumbnails, thank you vrry much. I just don't have the experience to easily make an awesome background without a plan like that.
I hope you like it!

Absolutely love Tidma's art and she's got a pretty interesting character to boot c: I've only actually seen her spoopy cat drawn a few times, so it's pretty neat to see something new pop up! As always, amazing art :)
PS those flames are wicked haha. Reminds me of the painterly effects in a lot of GW2 art (which I'm a huge fan of).

Awww, thank you so much, Eskinator! <3 <3 <3
Hey, guess what? I've finally given up doing greyscale underpaintings. I had to do them before because I always messed it up when I started painting directly in color. But now? I can finally work in color from start to finish! 8D
The old technique didn't work because it dulled my colors, and it made me overwork everything. I hope that working just in color will finally let me capture those sharp, crisp colors that I've always wanted in my artwork.

Aaah, I'm so happy that you like it so much. <33333333333333
I was worried that I might have taken her design too far and you wouldn't like my interpretation, but I obviously didn't have anything to worry about there.
I know I said it before, but you have one of the coolest fursonas ever. I just love freaky skeletal creatures like that. And the glowing? Gaaah, I love glowing things. So cool. So many things packed in one~
Thanks for the journal feature too! I picked up a lot of awesome new watchers from it. <33333
