Now this is some art I'm actually quite proud of! For the longest time I'd heard literally nothing but bad news about the World of Darkness franchise and the kind of people who played it, but just recently I was invited to join a group playing it, completely outside my usual social circle. I decided I'd give it a go, and judge for myself.
It turns out that, at least in the case of this particular group, the DM is so good at his job he's -in high demand- or something crazy, and the players are really co-operative and good at acting out their characters, so I was more than happy to join in!
Regardless, Ross here is a neurotic, pretty much freshly-made Vampire who's curse ended up making him look a bit like an anthro as well (That's how I roll!). He's a complete coward, but is out to do the right thing, and sees himself as being like the protagonist of an RPG with an alignment progression mechanic (Like Mass Effect or Infamous).
He's also doomed to be forever chubby-looking as well, which amuses the heck out of me!

"I'd heard literally nothing but bad news about the World of Darkness franchise and the kind of people who played it" - what, really? Are we talking new WoD or old WoD? All I know is some teenagers got into old WoD (Vampire the Masquerade, Werewolf the Apocalypse) and basically started treating them like manuals for life, but when I finally picked up a copy of Werewolf to see what all the fuss was about (would it really change my life?) my gods is the setting good and immersive!
Anyway, congrats on snagging a good RP group, that's something I've yet to experience! XD

I guess it was kind of partly that? I mean, mostly it was people I knew ragging on World of Darkness because of the way it ble dinto other things. Roleplays on things like Champions Online and Second Life that had nothing to do with World of Darkness, and people would still roleplay according to the lore of it with their Vampire characters, and assume everyone else had to follow it too.
NONETHELESS Yes, I have enjoyed it so far, and I'd recommend it. I'd try to get you into this group but it is big enough already that the GM has a hard time organising sessions!

I had no idea... I could see that would get annoying real fast. WoD is cool but it's by no means the "Bible" that every vampire has to follow... it's actually strangely specific about how vampire clans are to be organized, from what I've seen.
And thanks! ^^ ...but maybe it's just as well. I'm not in a good spot for voice or video chat. In my house there's a lot of "What did you say to me?" "I'm on the phone!" "I can't hear you!" old-school "Who's on first?" style comedy. ;p
