A Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb, in desert camouflage, located in the Malta Aviation Museum, on the former site of RAF Ta' Qali. Mary Rose was restored by local volunteers, and was completed in time to mark the occasion of the 50th anniversary of D-Day, though I cannot recall whether or not she is in a flying condition. She sits inside a special hangar alongside the first Hawker Hurricane to arrive on Malta, to relieve the three Gloster Gladiators of legend of their strenuous duties, and the two fighters now stand silent, as tribute to the enormous contribution that this small collection of islands, and her people, offered willingly to the British war effort in the Mediterranean.
