One week had passed since Julius came back to Oakland, and to Frontsek's side.
They were taking a happy stroll, with Frontsek in his Shift persona, and discussing about Simon, Julius' son. Julius couldn't have brought him with him because of school, but vacations just began and tonight, his plane would reach Oakland.
"You could have let him play truant," commented the rhino. "For just one week before the vacations!"
"Yeah, right!" snorted the boar. "I'll have you know I take my son's education seriously, thank you!"
The good-natured argument could have gone for a while when...
"Excuse me?"
The two lovers turned towards the man who spoke, a young raven with a sort of delinquant look and a smile on his face.
"Yes?"
"You're Shift, right?" asked the raven.
"Unless there's another Hulk-sized rhino in town, then yes!" joked the superhero.
"Awesome! My name is Raziel Solir. I'm a reporter for the french newspaper L'Indépendant, and I'd want to do an interview with you!"
"Oh. I'm sorry, but I don't do interviews."
"None?"
"No, never."
The two frowned when they saw the smile of the raven turn into a smug smirk.
"You know the saying: Never say never... mister Frontsek Midj."
Frontsek felt like his blood turned to ice, and Julius hurriedly made sure no one was around to hear.
"Who the hell are you talking about?!"
"Don't play innocent, mister Midj. Or do you prefer Shift? Or Titan of Oakland? You sure have loads of fun with that watch, and your boyfriend too, I saw."
The mention of the watch scared both men, because it was the proof that the frenchman wasn't bluffing.
Frontsek made a desperate effort to not panic. Julius, after years of dealing with financial sharks (figuratively), managed to stay calm and glared at the intruder.
"If you're trying to blackmail..." he hissed.
"Oh no, no blackmail," replied the raven. "Just like there's actually no interview. Well, actually, there is, but that's not what interests me personally. What interests me is a talk, nothing else."
"But... How the hell do you know?!" stammered Frontsek, defeated.
Raziel's smirk grew wider.
"I know it because it's me who put that watch in your mailbox all these months ago."
