As the final picture from my week in Malta, I'll leave you with a cute one! These roadsigns are all over the island, though I cannot say that I did see a hedgehog while I was there.
Discoveries from prehistoric caves in Malta shows that the islands were once richly populated, at a time when they were still connected to the mainland via a land-bridge to the Italian peninsular. As the waters rose, however, the animals were shown to adapt to their new and challenging environment be shrinking in size, resulting in such animals as small elephants, hippopotamuses, bears and deer. The -aww- factor just doesn't end in Malta! ^__^
Hope you enjoy!

Teeny weeny teddy beahs, indeed!
They are confirmed to have existed along with sub-species of miniature red deer, wolves and foxes, remains of which have all been found in a layer of rock in a cave called Ghar Dalam, dated from 18000BC to around 10000BC, though they're thought to have existed long after that, due to human depictions inside the cave (who arrived in 5200BC).
I dunno, Soba has a time machine - that is all I'm saying.
