I wondered if an anime / manga feel was being done with this piece. Spike's, err, spikes have that style in which I've come to love from shows like Dragonball Z, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, etc.
Very nice work on the coloring. It most certainly brings out the Princess in Spike. The pose also adds that hint of "Oh, no!" even if there may be a good part of him that likes the idea of being a 'Princess'. :)
