These photos are from early April, and these guys have come a long way since then, but they're nice shots, so I thought I'd share them.

This is Pop and Squirm. They are male Button Quails (also known as the Chinese Painted Quail). They are about 5 inches long, and yes that is their adult size. I adopted them from a lady whose granddaughter had impulse-bought them and didn't want them any more. They were malnourished and scruffy, having been living purely on chick feed in a completely bare cage for 6 months. These photos were taken a few days after bringing them home, already looking better with some shavings to root through and some salad to nibble on.

These days they are living in a huge 'indoor rabbit' cage, with all the treats they could wish for, and two lovely lady quails! I will get some photos of them up soon.
