"Tell us who you're working for," the female interrogation agent told him. She was leaning over the gray metal table in front of him, invading his personal space. "We know you were doing illegal research for a foreign entity, most likely China."
The chemist sat where he was, refusing to talk. If he did, his employers would probably send a hit-man to kill him. In fact, they might anyway. But his chances were better if he didn't speak. He did reflect, however, that the agent was rather attractive.
She had cascading blond hair, intimidating blue eyes, and a slender body. Her thin sleeved arms sprawled toward him, almost touching his own. She didn't wear the typically FBI garb, preferring, since she wasn't a field agent, to dress in a fashionable sleeved blouse and miniskirt.
"If you cooperate, we can put you in protective custody," she offered in a kind voice, trying the carrot instead of the stick. However, the older man, despite his observations of her beauty, remained frustratingly silent.
His interrogator stood up from her bent posture and sighed with exasperation, beginning to pace back and forth before him once again. Why won't he talk, she thought to herself. Protective custody and the witness protection system were his best chance. He might even escape charges if he cooperated. Why couldn't he see that?
The chemist waited in his seat for her to start pressing him again, trying the various interrogation techniques she had learned in training. She might insult him in an attempt to compromise his emotional state, or try to imply something to make him angry, or promise things he figured he probably would never get, such as protection. In any case, he thought himself too wise to say anything.
"I'm trying to work with you, Mr. Calloway," she pleaded politely, taking a heeled step up to his table again.
He ignored the use of his name and stared at the table, still saying nothing. He sighed. This was going to be a long day.
The yellow anaconda hiccuped and then burped with vulgarity. She had never been this full in her life, and to be honest she wasn't enjoying it. Her belly felt as though it were about to burst, and it complained, groaning and gurgling, at being subjected to such stress. She knew only a thin layer of scales and muscle kept her meal inside, and, in consequence, kept her alive.
It was true, her kind were supposed to be capable of this sort of a meal without trouble, but it didn't necessarily mean they liked it all that much, she reflected. She would have liked to see one of the humans swallow twice its body weight in food and try not to complain about it.
Another burp came up, this one with a little bile. Her body seemed to be working against her, trying to make her give up her meal, which only made it that much harder to keep inside.
Just deal with it, she told her distended stomach, which groaned forlornly in response.
She didn't dare move; the slightest exertion might finally force up the partly-digested carcass. Then she'd either have to try to swallow it all over again or give up and find some more of those feathered things.
Thankfully, she could feel lethargy beginning to set in, and before long her body would shut down its motor functions for the sake of digestion, granting her final relief as she fell asleep. She just needed to last a little longer.
She tried to think of other things, but couldn't really, so she decided to play over in her head what she had observed of the creature in order to distract herself.
She had not showed any sign of letting up until she was sure the creature was dead. This time there had been no enjoyment, no thrill, only relief that it's time was up and hers wasn't. She had slowly released its cooling body, slithering away from it for a moment, then looking back.
It was a human, she had finally realized. It hadn't held any resemblance to her abuser, but it had certainly been of his kind. Off to the left of its body (where it still remained) had lain a long metal object with a hollowed out hole in one end. She had assumed that that was what had caused all the chaos above.
The body itself had not been nearly as tall as that with which she was familiar, and moments earlier it had felt rather soft and pudgy against her scales. There had been strange pieces of something draped all over its carcass, and she had remembered her abuser had worn similar things. Its hair had been a grey that seemed to be turning white, and the color she had seen in its wide terror-filled eyes was blue.
She remembered something had felt wrong. Maybe not wrong, but...different. This creature had not been any mouse or feathered prey. It had been more than either of those. Greater. The serpent had sensed...intelligence, which she had already known it had, but... And then she had destroyed that intelligence. Even though she had been fighting for her life, she had felt (and still did feel) something almost akin to remorse.
But it hadn't been enough to keep her from doing what she had done next. She had slithered back over to the head of the body. It definitely had appeared bigger than her head was itself, but she had reflected that if she had learned anything over the past day or so, it was that looks were deceiving.
She had opened her maw wide and strained it wider as she had pressed her jaws over top of the creature's head. At the same time, she had maneuvered her body until she had had a coil or two around the thing's chest.
The rest had been a bit of a blur of overindulgence. Swallowing, advancing down the body that should have been too large for her. The painfully slow process of ingestion that her kind must put themselves through for their larger meals.
She sighed, almost regretting the effort she had put into it even though she knew it would pay off. She'd only need to wait a little longer...
Alright...Hi guys! This is my second submission here on FA. To clear up the confusion, the first 6 chapters I packed into one submission, located at: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16936989/. This is simply a continuation of that, and the reason it's chapter 7 is because I've been submitting them as chapters on DA. I don't know if that's too confusing or not, but whatever. I hope you enjoyed!
