We opted to use a new sew of leds for simplicity! They're easier to control then the pixels, and come with a tiny little controler. It's easy to use, super light weight, and the results look pretty neat in a spikey stripey tail like this!
In the dark the leds shine through the stripes much better to create not only lighting in the stripes but the spikes as well! The underside was shaved to look like a dragons underbelly.
If you want the us to shave a seam right down the middle of the yellow please let us know :D. I wasn't sure if that was something you'd want.

Two grays were used in this tail. One is a dark gray and the other is a pretty smokey light gray. DF yellow and ivory was used on the top. I felt the ivory worked better with the color scheme given the yellow underside!
The whole design was artistic liberty. They requested I stick with a grey and yellow theme for the most part :D! I quickly fell in love with these tons once I found the right colors to blend together. That yellow sticks out just enough to look really cool, imho!

I'm so happy you like it! You did say to do it artistic liberty so it's all good! No problem at all :D! I'm just really happy you liked how the results came out ;A;. I gotta admit when I started puttingi the colors together I was super stoked the pallete worked XD.

thats all fine and dandy :3 was just curious heh don't rush it please lol I don't want to get a bad set cause I rushed you or you felt rushed :3 and yes more glowy dragon lizard things with spikes is great and they look awesome you totally need to do more x3 hmmm is it possible to do a tail with a scaly fabric with led in it too? Oh man the possibilities and the amazing work it would be!!!!
I would never push myself to the point the point where my quality suffers :<. I hope you don't feel I'd do that to you.
As for the scaley fabric. If the fabric is able to diffuse light well they it would probably work. I don't see vinyl or pleather fabric working well since the backing is to heavy. Well, actually, a white scalley vinyrl might work if it doesn't have a batting backing on the back. You'd need those pixel leds to get it to shine through though! xD

And yeah I thought about that then pleather and such wouldn't be good since its not very sheer xD but if i/you found some that was good with the led lights it'd be super awesome!!!!
