Blackie the black doberman (traditional)
This is a very very special drawing for my very special friend Blackie, which I love so much as my bro.
He helped me with supporting me for repairing my scooter a while ago, when I needed it, so this drawing here is not a normal commission for him, it is a special Gift for all the friendship and help he gave to me.^^
And when you remind to my "the sexiest fox trio"-pic, then you see that there's no place for the 4th part of our small family. So Blackie was sitting on a wall down the beach, while the other 3 foxes were posing for a portrait^^
Blackie is the strongest weight lifter and fastest runner in Brazil, he loves swimming and bodybuilding alot as you see, and sometimes he's a muscle model for beachwear^^
oh and don't nudge me too much for the coloration, I've killed 3 copics on that one and it is difficult as hell to color a black dog with copics^^"
But I had so much fun, because now I know, I will make Blackie smile, which is the best present someone can give me, more worth than any money on the world
I hope everyone likes it a bit^^

*pounces and claps a lot* Ohoo! This is soooo awesome! OMG! So much to say... I love the coloring in whole, there's not one single spot that isn't carefully colored. From the bricks over the wall to the clear water and sunset sky on the back, wonderful! I love mostly three things about the coloring: The shading, the indirect light effect (s-tun-ning! X3) and, over the doggy's hot body, how it makes the muscles look even sexier (pectorals, abs and left arm are the best! ^//^)!
This is way beyond from what I was imagining! ^^
You truly overcame yourself, my dear little brother. Congratulations and thank you soooo much! <3

Very interesting use of colors there. I detect warm grays, light browns, and of course some blues. I know the pain of coloring black characters >X3 I've never tried using colors along with gray tones. Though I've been tempted to use blues before. Personally I've always just gone from really light grays and worked my way up to the darker ones (usually a number 9 if copics, or 90% if prismas).
This pic just screams "made of 100% pure grade A AWESOME!!" by the by ;3

thanks soooo much!
*hugs you tight in a squeezing hug*
All I have is the copic warm gray 1,3,5 and 7 and the cool gray 1,3,5 and 7 too, and black for all the gray tones I can use.
I just alway stry to "mix" the gray tones to let them look a bit smooth and not that comic/cellshading like, I just love those copics, but they are always soooo expensive here in Germany, why they can't be that cheap like in Japan? X3

Have you tried Dickblick.com? They're probably still expensive..but since everything would be listed as american currency...depending on how much international shipping ends up being..you might end up paying less than I would X3
I'd also suggest picking up Prismacolor's French Grays. They produce a nice natural black towards the darker end of the spectrum. And the set of twelve (10%-90% + 3 blacks) is only $20..or like around 16 euro.

Incredible. You improve so fast it is somehow scary. if you look closely to that shading, it is so realistic, which is very difficult when you draw black fur. The kept details are so astonishing. Love his stomach (must be on a hell of a diet), and the huge background detail...Bravo!
It's beautiful bro. The color accentuates really well the muscle structure, and I love the way so gentle and shy that he raises his hat and look at the top of the glasses ^////^
I must say too that being a scene at the beach it makes me feel a bit nostalgic, it's like seeing part of my dreams

Its a wonderful looking piece of work, I can see why you burned up so many copics doing a heavily colored piece like this. When I do any heavy media oriented Anubis pictures I tend to use colored and regular pencils so that I don't burn through all one colored part of my stock of art supplies. As I said when you posted the B&W version of this piece he would probably get some leg gropes if he sat like that next to me.
