Even though this is "Throwback Thursday", I thought I'd spend the next few weeks posting something a little more current, for a change...

On Sunday, June 28, 2015, yours truly went to the Miami Beach Convention Center, to attend the annual event "Florida Supercon" (a combination sci-fi/fantasy/comic book/cosplay/celebrity convention).

Helping me to get there was my good friend from Miami, Funimal. I took a Tri-Rail train to Hialeah, where he picked me up in his car, stopped off at a DoubleTree Hotel just south of Miami International Airport), where we transferred to a shuttle bus that took us (and others) to the convention center.

Once there, we went our separate ways to meet the people of our chosing. I, myself, chose to hang out with a few comic books artists, and to meet (for the first time) some very rare cartoon voice actors - including Charlie ("Cow & Chicken") Adler[, Carlos ("Rocko's Modern Life") Alazraqui, and Tom ("Spongebob Squarepants") Kenny - and my good friend, writer/creator Mitch ("Bubba the Redneck Werewolf") Hyman. And I hope to post some rare 'photo-ops' of myself with each and every one of these individuals (in the weeks ahead).

I was using a disposable 35mm camera to capture all these 'Kodak moments' (even though it was made by Fuji Film). But Funimal didn't want me to waste any exposures from my camera on a 'self-portrait' (or a 'selfie') of the two of us. So, he offered to use his smartphone to capture this rare moment of time - even though I did have to instruct him to turn his smartphone sideways for the wide angle shot - which he managed to get...

That's me on the left, BTW. I still haven't shaved off my beard, since it first grew following the removal of a growth on the left side of my face (a few years ago).
