At my core I'm a lineart type of guy, but every so often I try to do a line-less picture just to see what turns out. It's not perfect, but I did learn a few things in the process of doing this one, and few enough people would complain about having one more Sally fanart about the place ;)

I'm not very familiar with Gimp. I had fiddled around with it a couple of times.
I read somewhere that the designers specifically made it to be as different from Photoshop as possible. That made it kind of counter intuitive for me. But I guess everyone has different things that work for him.
The results look excellent, but of course, the skill is in the artist, not the program.

Ha, really? Somehow I thought it would have been somebody more...batlike :P Not that there's a big pool to draw from in that regard. AFAIK there's only Foxglove for female bat characters. Also there was that one very brief scene at the end of Anastasia where this girl bat shows up outta nowhere and lays one on Bartok, just before the credits roll. There was also the crazy bat in Fern Gully, and really, those 3 are all I can think of. For some reason bats just aren't super popular in 'toons.
Gosh, sorry about my long rambling reply, there! But yeah I'm with you, Sally's always been pretty crush-worthy!

Funny, isn't it? But it's true. XD Oh, I think I had attractions to other furry characters before her, but she's the first one I remember actually thinking "DAYAM" about. XD
As for old school bat girls, the only other one that springs to mind is the bat form of that one vampire girl from Scooby Doo and the Ghoul School. I'm sure I could come up with more if I put my mind to it, but they are VERY rare in cartoons!
