Colored Sketch Commission for

Always a joy to illustrate Avians and work with Aidan! n_n
Ack, I am so sorry I don't post here as often as I want to! I usually try to just post my nonhuman and adult art here on FA, but my content is really equally divided up so I don't have as much to post here on a regular basis yet! ;___;

Nice to see ya finally starting to post some of those great coloured sketch pieces, Lady! Especially since I never got to see the final result of this piece until now! It's definitely clear to see you enjoy your avians, with all the detail you went into with the wings and feet anatomy.
And once more, the detail you still went and put into all of them despite just being sketches is quite impressive, and the great price you asked for 'em was more than fair :)
Once again, hope you had a good time with all of these! And that were a nice boon to your wallet!
Are you planning to post the Sangheili fellow here, by the by? Since I sadly missed out on that one's stream....

Thank you, Izike! I really enjoyed working on them and it gave be a great chance to practice more with my new program. It feels really good to feel more comfortable drawing digitally. n_n
Been busy the last few days finishing up things and I'm slightly hesitant to post around a holiday since it's difficult to say who's around to actually see it, but yup, I'll be posting all the commissions up between my galleries over the next few days. I'm still not sure if I should post my human only art here, though (well the SFW stuff, mostly), what do you think?

You're most welcome, Lady! It's wonderful to know you not only enjoyed the work, but it could also serve as good practice for you too. Funny you say that as well, since from the stream, you seemed like a natural at it.
Hmmm... as for your human only stuff... well I CAN safely say that I know human stuff is allowed, and I don't think I've ever really seen anyone complain about it before in the comments. I know human + anthro/feral sometimes goes down fairly well too. Human SFW though... not something that crops up all too often from my knowledge. With how amazing your humans look, I think people would definitely like what they saw. The only problem is I don't know how popular it is overall...
Also, I'd just like to quickly wish you a slightly early, happy 4th of July, if it's something that you happen to celebrate.

I still struggle. I feel like I have more control/precision when using good ol' pencil and paper, and it's a bit more challenging to get in there and do line weight, digitally, but I'm hoping it's only a matter of time before I'm able to get the results I'm aiming for with less trouble.
Well I know humans are allowed, I just figured it's not the kind of content people care to see here, which is ok, but on the other hand, having more content to post here more often to stay active, and just examples of what I do in general, would be a good idea, I think. I mean I wasn't expecting you to commission me for a human character, what with all your lovely reptilian characters, so having well rounded content to share certainly lets others know what I do and am comfortable with!
And thank you! I personally am not used to celebrating holidays often (though I do enjoy/respect them, just not a social kinda person), but I appreciate the thought!

Ohh, I don't think any stylus + tablet experience is probably going to give you the kind of precision and control you're used to as a traditionalist background artist. But I am glad that you feel you're learning, expanding your horizons, and getting better. You know that I'm no artist... but I hope it does mean something when I say you seem to handle yourself really rather well with the software. Just like you said, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before you're a dab hand with digital painting!
Hmm, you make some very good points. I'm lucky enough to know you draw humans, given it was the first piece of your artwork I ever saw featuring one. But you're right, folks who see your gallery here probably wouldn't get such an impression. I do think it's worthwhile posting some human art at some point. I definitely don't see any downside to it :)
Heh, you're welcome .I'm just glad you're not the one wishing me it. It's gotten awfully weird in the past when American friends of mine wish me a happy independence day. Not that I'm as petty as to hold a grudge over something that happened before I was born, but... it seems kind of ignorant, y'know?
ANYWAY! A pleasure getting to have this li'l back and forward with you tonight! I'm about to be logging myself, but once again, it's wonderful to see you uploading these pics! I'll be keeping my eye open for the Sangheili piece, amongst others!
If you would, wish Falcon well for me too. And a belated Canada Day, if he's one to celebrate such too.

It's unfortunate but it makes sense. I wouldn't expect two completely different traditional methods to feel the same, so why wouldn't it apply to working digitally? It's just difficult when you spend more time learning/struggling vs. working on the art. I've been heavily experimenting for.. probably the last 4 years now (between upgrading my traditional supplies, experimenting digitally, getting a tablet, and now most recently with getting a better up to date program) to improve the quality of my work and the speed of which I get things done, so I've had a lot of ups and downs emotionally with my work because it's been in such a state of flux, as I leave what I'm familiar with to improve myself. So yes, it does mean something, a whole lot, actually, that you say and think that.
I've been stumbling a lot lately in actually completing content that I enjoy the most and best represents myself and my work, such as the first piece of artwork you saw of mine with Anders and Ripa. That kind of content (interspecies interactions, aliens, size play, even detailed complex armor, adult or clean) is something I'd like to finish more of and something those who enjoy my work come to expect of me. My main "theme", if you will. I take a great deal of pride in being able to offer and be comfortable drawing such a wide range of subjects, but at the same time, I always feel unsatisfied that my gallery has no real unity. Like a theme of some kind like most artists. I usually feel like it's both my best and worst quality as my audience becomes so varied based on my varied subject matter, but that I am also able to take great care in offering something to almost everyone. It's like that saying: "Jack of all trades, master of none." And I'm not sure if that is a good thing.
And I realize I probably just came off as a big downer with all that I said above. I didn't mean it that way, it's just kinda nice to talk about the kinds of internal conflicts I think about sometimes. I'm not unhappy about my work, I'm just always thinking about how to improve my current state.
I can imagine how awkward it would be to be wished a happy "Insert Holiday that has nothing to do with me". I suppose it comes with the ignorance of Americans. And I'm not trying to insult anyone, as hell, I'm an American myself, but it's pretty easy to see how alarming it is that so many Americans live in a bubble and act as if there isn't a world outside of the States. Obviously in your case, yeah, someone from England being wished a happy independence day is quite amusingly insulting, ha..
And always a pleasure to talk with you, Izike! And Falcon did see our convo, but it's kind of you to think of him and his Holiday, too! ♥

Well, I can happily say that I completely meant what I said about your apparent skill from watching you streaming. You seemed to be quite impressive with how you worked through all the options and tools available to you... heck, you even gave a tutorial to Kotor, so that definitely goes to show some semblance of skill.
With that being said, I also think it's great that you are constantly striving to improve and experiment with your artwork. You're not content just to let your skill stagnate, and that's a very good thing! Especially since, and I wont name names, but I've seen a few examples of artists that find something they're happy with/makes money... and don't really deviate from there. Whilst I can understand frustration... and/or worse, during such a period... I hope you can take solace in the fact that I, and several others I'm sure, think your digital artwork is stellar.
I can also completely understand your desire to complete the kind of artistic content that you enjoy the most, and best represents yourself and your work. I can understand a concern of falling into a state where you feel you are a "master of none" as you put it. Maybe here on FA, and perhaps some other sites you post your content on, I can understand feeling like your art is very varied and doesn't seem to hold a particular theme. I definitely think your dA gallery, and certainly your userpage, does a great job of showing off the kinds of artwork you most enjoy however.
It's wonderful that you are capable of being able to draw so many different things, be so comfortable with different subjects, and I'm sure your commissioners appreciate that... but if you feel that you're longing for certain subject material, hoping to establish a "theme" for yourself, here is my two cents of advice.
I've seen before people making specific notes in journals that certain subject matters are their absolute favourite things to draw and/or that they're strongest at such subjects. I've also seen people offering small discounts of ≤10% or so for subject matter that they really enjoy, to sort of incentivize people to pick such things. Maybe offering specific/additional slots for people, if they would like artwork that fits in with the kinds of things you like to draw.
Hope maybe those thoughts might help. And uh... knowing that now, and it being something that I too certainly enjoy... I might have a think about any kind of future projects that would fit such a theme :)
Heh, you didn't come off as a downer at all, by the way. You came off as an artist who has an appropriate amount of care and concern for the kind of artwork they produce, and the admirable desire to constantly want to improve themselves and their artwork. And that you think it's kind of nice to be able to talk about such things, makes me even happier to be here to lend an 'ear' as it were.
I hate to generalize people as widely as thinking all Americans are ignorant... but unfortunately in this case, it's only going to be Americans that are wishing me a happy independence day. Like you said, it's kind of amusingly insulting to be told such. I'm not as petty as to actually be angry over American Independence, or Canadian Independence for that matter, and I'm so very happy to have great American friends such as yourself and a few others. It just sort of makes me laugh, the ignorance of such... and troubles me just slightly. Blind patriotism... can be a dangerous thing, I feel.
Always makes me smile to see a comment from you, Lady! :)
