The EAS Vandegrift is one of six Camp Pendleton Class Marine Corp Destroyers in use by the EarthForce Marine Corps. The large rotating mid-section houses barracks and other every day needs for the Marines, plus the launch bays for breaching pods. The rotating mid-section is also defended by numerous turrets. The EAS Vandegrift has scheduled to take part in Operation Sudden Death (the Earth Alliance intervention of a civil war on Akdor in December 2259), but the jump engines had been sabotaged en-route. The Vandegrift eventually reached Akdor, but a day to late to help General Richard Franklin's GROPOS in the offensive. The Camp Pendleton Class Marine Corp Destroyer is a fairly large vessel from the design-team at Rocketdyne.
