So here is a commission for 
thehotrodhero of his Great Dane character Debbie, enjoying one of the simple pleasures of the summertime.
As I often do for his commissions, I've cooked up a little story to go with it :)
The cool water felt good against Debbie's fur as she waded into the small millpond, the legs of her overalls rolled up to just below her knees. The silty bottom of the pond was soft and cool under her feet, and it made for a refreshing way to cool off from the long hike across town back to her home in the country. Her lunchtime visit with Mike and Liam was just as pleasant as always, but thinking of Mike - that strong, gentle giant of a police officer - had her teenage heart racing for reasons she couldn't fully explain. The warm summer breeze gently touched her long brown hair, and she tried to calm her thoughts.
Wading deeper into the pond, she felt the water touch the rolled-up hem of her overalls. Giving in to one of the simple pleasures of summertime, she sighed and waded further in, no longer caring whether her clothes remained dry. When she had waded in far enough for the water to reach her waist, she stopped, as if suddenly remembering something. She looked around, her mind's eye still focused on Mike's warm smile and the cute way he would ruffle Liam's headfur.
Throwing all reserve to the wind, she splashed into the pond and lay on her back, floating on the surface of the pond just the way she'd been taught long ago. The water held her up easily, even in her fully clothed state. By this time next year, she would be an adult, likely with adult responsibilities. So she decided she would make the best of her seventeenth summer - the last of her childhood. The afternoon sun felt good against her face, contrasted by the coolness of the water. She loved coming here - it was one of her favorite places. Cool, crisp, and clean, even on the hottest of summer afternoons, this little millpond was a sort of sanctuary. She smiled, letting out a small giggle - truly, a sanctuary of a simple childhood pleasure.
