When my father named me Jed - when I was born in 1954 - I wasn't anticipating moments of stress and anxiety, by being picked on for having that name...

As that changed in the early 1960s, when "The Beverly Hillbillies" went on the air, and everyone I'd encountered (at school and summer camp) compared me to Buddy Ebsen's character 'Jed'.

(It was moments like these that made me wish that Mom had her way, and let her use 'Gary' as my first name [instead of my middle name]. My whole life could've taken a 360-degree turnaround!)

By the time I had moved down south to Florida in 1994, I had gotten over all that taunting, and though my life would improve... that was until Jeb Bush ran for governor a few years later. And now, people keep confusing me for the ex-governor (calling me Jeb, instead of Jed)! And, of course, it has gotten worse this year - now that Jeb decided to run for President in the 2016 Election...

Taking a lesson from the brother and son of former Presidents, I'd used his recent ad campaign (incorporating his first name with an exclamation point), to set the record straight as to who I am, once and for all! (I really wanted to use an interbang (a punctuation mark that combines a question mark with an exclamation point). But I chose not to confuse any of you out there!
