oh I love this, my fictional nation is basically a modern, furry version of the Nasrid kingdom of Granada(basically my timeline diverges in 1484 when King Ferdinand dies in the battle of Setenil from a lucky crossbow bolt that messes up the union between Castille and Aragon, it took me a few months to form a timeline from 1484 to present), so my fictional is still like the Nasrid kingdom was in a way, emphasized agriculture, technology and trade, and has a big military for its small size(their population today is roughly 4 million in my timeline but a military that can be mobilized and include 7-10% of their population sorta like a Muslim Israel in a way).
