There is now an updated version here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/20436331/
This is a very nice sketch of my golden jackal / long-legged buzzard (hawk) 'sona, Auric, shape-shifted to full gryphon form. I believe that he is the first gryphon to mix golden jackal and long-legged buzzard, the former being an uncommon furry species and the latter being practically unheard of among furry circles. I'm very happy with how his griffon form turned out.
In this sketch he is in what heraldic art calls the Sejant pose https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attit.....ldry%29#Sejant
I know some people have definite opinions about what avian/mammal combinations should be called a "Gryphon" and if it makes those people happier they can call him a relative of the Simurgh/Senmurv (dog-bird) http://www.gryphonpages.com/relatives/ rather than a Gryphon.
The artwork is drawn by Mohrne who can be found on Weasyl: https://www.weasyl.com/~mohrne . Mohrne's character Aurin is a fairly well-known shapeshifting canine gryphon character (based on Valravn lore) and was thus one of the first artists that I thought of when I decided my winged jackal 'sona was going to have a gryphon form and was a big help in developing my 'sona's wing design. The similarity between Auric and Aurin's names is purely coincidental and their colors and personalities are quite different.
A nice version of this drawing can also be found on Weasyl: https://www.weasyl.com/submission/1.....s-gryphon-form
Pictures of real long-legged buzzards (a hawk, not a vulture):
