I LOVE DEVON AND HUSH MORE THAN ANYTHING ;___; Ok I really kind of do. I adore all my voices, all their special bonds… but I have this attachment to Devon and Hush that makes them just my favorite couple in the world. I think it's because of the journey they have gone through, and what they represent. Considering they are basic polar opposites make them yin and yang, and somehow create a balance. Honestly, if you were as different as they are you probably wouldn't ever date that guy again. But something happened, must be Devon's adorable little blind butt. I swear, Devon you must realize everyone loves you :P
And Hush has always been pined after, and finally he is mine muuuahahah! ….I mean. Devon's. c____c I love Hush, and I hope he really looks like a Sheep! I tried. I am really trying to draw varying species better, especially herbivores, which I pretty much never draw.
I guess this is an updated shading style, still kinda simplistic but I like it. And I know the lyrics got cut off on the viewer's left, I is sorry. I was gonna type them in but it just didn't seem as personal that way.

(Hush used to be known as Kiley, but his name has been changing for reasons! He's still the same kinda guy, just, evolved. Kinda like Devon. Our babies have changed over the years, they grow up too ;p )

The reference really pays off! My first thought when I looked at it was "wow Hush looks really sheep-y!" also love that little wagging tail hahah. And the hues of blue, there's also some neat colour thing where they look different and pop off eachother, but also feel very unified? Devon looks so cute and happy~
I know what you mean about something feeling really appealing and powerful when the relationship doesn't seem like it should hold, but for some reason the two characters just have some...spark that keeps them together?

mmm the color! I mentioned elsewhere that the scanner made it look freaking ELECTRIC; the cellphone pic made the text much darker and hush's coloring much more subdued. I like the electrification effect. I think hush's bright blue goes well with Devon's shirt and blush and lips, which look neon pink (which makes me happy yay devons, neon pink!) I also like all the colors present in devon's hair. The smoke is amazing-- it looks so extremely soft, which is hard to do even with a soft medium like watercolor-- marker i'd think it was next to impossible. Very nice! I love how the scanner reacted to the pearly blue in the text-- scanners do funny things when faced with pearlescent media. All the little details are amazing-- the hearts on devon's bracelet, the things in hush's hair, each thing wrapping around hush's horns, devon's piercing, hush's little bow on his left horn- those things. I have no idea how you maintain the patience and the creativity of doing those tiny little details, and it pays off. Devon's adorable taillwag is totally ADORABLE, and, like everyone's said, hush looks amazingly sheepy (Which is awesome because i love love love sheeps!)
The simplified shading style is pretty cool-- it's really adds pop to the image, because it's like it's accent shading, and is thus backing up the wonderful shapes you make with your lines. :D Bravo!

All of your recent stuff has been so good, girl! I see you taking huge strides lately, and this piece really exemplifies that. I love that shape of Devon's face and his sweet, smushed against Hush smile. I hadn't realized his eyes were yellow! I love his little waggy tail, too. All the freaking details too, man. The bracelets are so nicely spaced, they look really organic. I also love their lips and hair. There's a lot of fine detail here that really adds up. I also really like how Devon's hair is parted here, it shows a different and playful side of his character.
Sorry for the rant. I just gotta make up for all the pieces I don't usually comment on. ;)

Nnghhh thank you so much Malii ;; That means a ton coming from you! I am so glad you can see improvements, I have been trying and looking at references, and trying to push myself to try new things when in the past I would have just taken the easy way out. And well his eyes aren't yellow, I was just trying to convey a milky white kind of blind look and this was my first time attempting that. Do you have any other suggestions to make them look more like milky blind eyes?

Wow, just wow. These two man, these two were my all time %150 favorite characters ever. It is just SO AWESOME that you still draw them, like that they are still alive. Firstly blue and purple compliment each other so well and you even tossed in some pink to balance it all. The accessories are glorious and I would expect nothing less from these two. Really enjoy the different textures, the wool vs. the straight hair and the curls in the wool really compliment the text around them. Keep up the great work!
omg you! ;____; You flatter me so! it means so much that you remember these two. They have a long ass history, realized it's been since 2002 that they started their thing with each other. That is like, 13 years… wtf. And it's amazing they still are together. I am so humbled by your comments as your work inspires me to no end! I'm glad you think the wool looks ok, and that the colors balance each other out. I was kinda just feeling this out and going with the flow, and I'm glad it worked! <3
