After the hardships Peter faced over the past ten pages, it feels really good to see him smiling again. Also, to those who have seen Pixar's Inside Out, this moment could be considered a new Core Memory for Peter, and the one that spawns the creation of "Piano Island" in his personality.
When I was in sixth grade (after only being able to play on a tiny keyboard for years) my parents finally could afford to invest in a piano. Our first was an off-brand upright, and it was what I practiced on for the first six years of my lessons. Around the time when I graduated high school, they invested in an upgrade: a Boston Baby Grand, which was one of the most gorgeous instruments I've ever played.
Yes: was. The story of what happened to that piano will be revealed in time (since it will happen in the sequel series, Peter & Whitney, coming soon to the Katbox). In the meantime, I couldn't give Peter a Boston piano here, so instead he has a Cleveland.

Before I started piano lessons, I actually wanted to learn saxophone in elementary school band, but my mom made me start with the clarinet since we already owned one. She said if I liked it I could upgrade to the sax in time since they were similar instruments (sort of).
I wound up getting tired of the clarinet after two years and just stuck with piano after that. XD

Funny story about liberace and the candlabra.
Before he had gotten famous, he was like many musicians, gigging around for whatever paying work he could get. As a piano player, he had a lot of gigs playing background music for meals at fancy hotels. So he was getting ready to go out and play the piano at a snooty dinner party at a hotel, when he noticed the music light he had requested earlier had not been put on the piano. He already knew it was too dark to read the music, and they told him that the piano light wasn't going to happen. So he looks around the service corridor of this hotel and sees a candelabra with candles in it on a shelf. He borrows a lighter from someone who wants it right back, so he lights the candles in the back hall.
So he carefully opens the door and carries the lit candelabra across the room, carefully moving slow so the candles don't blow out. Reaching the piano, he puts down the candelabra so it illuminates the music. Looking up as he sits down on the bench, he suddenly realizes that the crowded noisy room full of people talking and eating dinner that he had entered had transformed into a silent room full of people watching him Make His Entrance.
He smiles, says something along the line of "good evening. I'm Liberace, Enjoy the music. " He said that up until that time, he had never had that many people watching him intently as he played. From there on, he always made an entrance with a candelabra.

I'll also be posting each page to
peterandwhitney, but in terms of where the main series hub will be hosted, yes. It will exclusively be on the Katbox.
