I recently joined an artist collective https://www.facebook.com/TheRabbitH.....tCollective…. they have challenges and this month it was Under the Sea.

I'm about to head out of town for week but wanted to get started on my first challenge as a member. Under the Sea dovetailed perfectly into a painting I'd already been planning to do. While in San Diego recently I was on a whale watch. No whales but we did see a super pod of Common dolphins and lots of birds. I was with some other artists ( Hi Sandy, Diana and April) and we someone ended up on the topic of a water phoenix. I'd done one before but this really inspired me. So here are the pencils. I'm planning on finishing is with ink and watercolour. Something to look forward to when I get home! Diana was talking about doing one too, I hope she does!
