Gift Art: Vampirekitty - Updating the Colors
So, over the years I've slowly been becoming more and more yellow-orange instead of being a deep foxy orange. This piece was part of a few that were worked on to bring my fursona back into line with the colors he was originally assigned twelve years ago. I really do prefer this strong orange because it blends much better in regards to the markings, but it's hard for a lot of artists to accomplish.
Something amusing that I happened to notice shortly after this when the Zootopia trailer was released was that my character's blended nature and use of black in the markings happens to be fairly similar to Nick's. Or rather, the other way around, since my character is mostly unchanged over the last twelve years. This should allow me to more easily find artists I can comfortably commission by knowing they can tackle my preference of blending on the markings.
Speaking of my markings, there's a very subtle one here that rarely gets seen. It's inspired by actual foxes, mostly seen with cross foxes but it actually does exist with red foxes as well. I have a darker coloration along my spine, shoulders, and the top of my rear. Because of my long hair, it's almost never seen except in explicit artwork, but I like that I have that level of reality-based creativity.
Going forward, I plan to be a lot more accurate in the pieces that I have colored, and VK will be working with me to make sure I give the artists colors they can use so that I can be happy with the results.
PS: Sorry for not having my head wrapped around this before now, Sareii.
