Here's a bunny that's really special to me, and I feel so lucky to have him in my position
This is Tristan, a rabbit from Shriss's rabbitry. He died of illness, and was a big beautiful buck. He is so striking, with his dark face and golden body. Tristan was tanned by Shriss, and I find myself petting him and playing with his ears a lot
Tristan is not for sale or trade at this time.
Tristan came to me from a private rabbit farmer, who I know for a fact takes great care and respect raising, breeding, and humanely culling her rabbits. The rabbits feed her family, and I have great respect for her.
Tristan was not raised and killed specifically for his pelt, and in fact died of illness, despite best efforts to save him. His beauty has been preserved.

That's definitely a nice coloration, does he have white mark feet? its weird to remember how unique rabbits can get since I usually only see the stark white or brown agouti buns for sale, dead /or/ alive
Do you have any idea what illness he died of? I remember seeing casualties like this guy from time to time when I was active in the dA taxidermy scene since Shriss raises so many rabbits. Rabbits seem kinda hard to take care of, but Shriss seems to take pretty good care of theirs

His colouration is gorgeous, though he doesn't have white feet, just lighter underpaws (the tops are dark, like his face)
He died of pasteurellosis, and yes, rabbits can be finnicky and up and die fairly easily. Shriss was really good at rehabbing her rabbits, but you can't save them all, unfortunately.
