Enforcing the Rules (by WhiteLeonard)
"The next time you're incapable of following my instructions, I will find somebody who can."
Samuel Szekely, also known as Gemini for his unique dichotomous furcoat, is a member of the Hungarian mob, called the Bronze Dragon, in St. Alban, a big city on the East Coast of the United States. He's a lieutenant, controlling his own little corner of the sphere of influence of the Hungarians. Usually, he's not a big friend of dirtying his own hands, but sometimes one has to deliver the message personally to make sure it arrives properly. Such is the case of the owner of this little shop - he refused to pay his due to Samuel, and that of course is an insult the dragons won't take.
The clerk will likely try to call the police, but the police is owned by the mob as well - if not the Hungarians, then other clans - and will do nothing.
One day, I woke up with a visual concept for a character. A bat with a vertically split furcoat. As I worked out the details, I decided to have him be a main character in a modern Film Noir setting. Some day I'll get around to writing a story or two about this place - St. Alban, where there's more sinners than saints. Samuel will likely be a character to appear in that story.
Either way, I was looking for an artist to draw this character for me, when I really randomly stumbled over the amazingly talented
whiteleonard. Upon inquiring whether they were open for commissions, it took only a few days to result in this absolutely stunning picture. I can't say how absolutely happy I am with this picture.
I heavily recommend watching WhiteLeonard - the art there is just beautiful, and they deserve a billion more watches than they have.
At any rate...
