This is the ultimate use of an item I posted a while ago, under the title "Holy Crap!" It will be the "cover" of an on-line zine of the same title, for the 13th. issue.
The "zine" is a spoof of old pulp stories of the 1930's, so the artwork had to be given a similar period feel. With Photoshop and dowloaded type fonts, it was possible to find something roughly suitable. But no type fond comes in this sort of "receding" style, so once I rendered the type as as image, I used the free transform tool to shape the type block any way I pleased. Note the price in the upper right corner -- 35 "creds". "Creds" were one of those cliches of early SF, in which the author supposed Dollars, Francs, Yen, or Pounds would be replaced by a universal system of exchange.
